My name is Hannah and I am an English major as well as an aspiring writer. I attended a high school of the arts in South Florida where I studied film and creative writing during the school year. Most times I write poetry and short stories, although recently I have begun to dabble in script writing. I started writing short stories when I was in third grade; I would write these two-page animal superhero stories for my teacher every week and ended every single one with a cliff hanger. Sometimes I would transform these stories into comics, and thus began my newfound love for art, storytelling, and the development of quality entertainment through writing.

Undoubtedly, creative writing has always been my passion, one that I hope to pursue and achieve many things through. However, I do recognize that writing is a lone sport; your ideas are your own to train with, your words are your legs in which you sprint with, and, when it comes to finally finishing the race, you end up becoming your own obstacle. Because writing is usually a solitary process, it is easy to make excuses not to write and to come across a deteriorating case of writer’s block. Personally I have experienced these things heavily.

As a result, I would like to use this blog as a platform to encourage other writers to have confidence in their work. I would love to reach out to other writers and share my own tips and tricks, while even allowing some people to showcase their work on this website. I would like to create a kind of community that reminds fellow writers that writing doesn’t always have to be a lone race; it is possible to sprint together.
